The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted May 21 to approve a single-family residential rezoning for almost 18 acres in McDonough on the west side of Highway 155, north of Town Square Drive, for a new subdivision.

The original request for R-5 zoning was denied but the board approved R-3 with several conditions. The plan is for 28 single-family lots on the site. The vote to approve the R-3 zoning was unanimous. Also approved was an R-3 zoning for a 50-acre site at 707 Peach Drive, a couple of blocks north of Flippen Elementary School.

The vote to approve was unanimous and included eight conditions recommended by the Zoning Advisory Board.
