Community input is due by Friday on amendments to the Cobb County Comprehensive Plan, according to Monday’s email newsletter from Cobb District 4 Commissioner Lisa Cupid.

This plan is “the official growth management policy document for the county that estimates population and employment for the next 20 years and estimates the land use, infrastructure and service needs to meet existing and future population needs,” she said.

The district commissioner, where the change is being requested, must sponsor the proposed change for it to be considered as an amendment, she added.

Nov. 30 is the deadline for the amendment package from the staff to be made available to the public.

In January, public hearings will be held for each of the changes, one with the planning commission at 7 p.m. Jan. 5 and one with the board of commissioners at 9 a.m. Jan. 19, before decisions will be finalized.
