A Grant Park man who had been missing since Sept. 8 has been located, Atlanta police said Tuesday.

Napoleon Veal, 62, was found Saturday at North Fulton Hospital, spokeswoman Stephanie Brown said.

“Investigators were able to reach Mr. Veal by cellular phone,” Brown told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “He answered and advised that he was at North Fulton Hospital.” Police confirmed his location.

Veal told police that he fell off a ladder while painting a house and sustained broken ribs, Brown said. Veal said he told family members of his whereabouts.

It is not clear where Veal was painting a house.

He disappeared after he asked a friend to watch his dog while he went to a job, police said earlier.
