Report: Lowery hospitalized

Civil Rights icon is 88 years old

11Alive News reported that Rev. Joseph Lowery was admitted to Crawford Long Hospital this weekend.

The 88-year-old Lowery, a Civil Rights icon, is in the intensive care unit, 11Alive News said. The TV station attributed the information to friends of the Lowery family.

The AJC has not been able to confirm the report but is continuing to investigate. Check back for updates.
