A Clayton County corrections officer was arrested for allegedly trying to buy drugs on her lunch break, Channel 2 Action News reported Monday.
Christina Danielle Allen, a Clayton sheriff's deputy in training, was trying to obtain the addictive painkiller Roxicodone, even asking the alleged drug dealer for a police discount, Butts County Sheriff Gene Pope said.
"We were monitoring a phone used by a known drug dealer and that phone started receiving texts regarding the purchase of some pills," Pope told Channel 2.
Allen is charged with drug possession and violating her oath, and her arrest was caught on tape.
"That has got to be the stupidest thing a law enforcement officer can do, OK?" the arresting officer tells Allen on the video. "You're under arrest for possession of a controlled substance. You will not finish the academy. You will not go back to work as a police officer. You understand that?"
Allen will be placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, Deputy James Beveridge of the Clayton County Sheriff's Office said.
