A homeowner shot and killed a suspected robber early Sunday morning in southwest Atlanta, Channel 2 Action News is reporting.

Police said they received a report of a robbery and person shot at a home on Howell Terrace at about 3 a.m.

A man was at his home on the 200 block of Howell Terrace when two men tried to break in, according to Channel 2. Police told Channel 2 he fought back, overpowering one of the suspects and shooting him multiple times. A handgun was found at the scene.

One of the suspects was pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital hours later, police said. It’s unclear what happened to the second suspect.
