A road culvert replacement project will close part of Old Senoia Road in central Fayette County until July.

The SPLOST-funded project, estimated to cost $668,572, will shut down through traffic on the road between Hayden Court and the entrance to Sams Lake Sanctuary. Signs note the 2.5-mile detour along Harp Road, Redwine Road and Hawn Road, just west of SR 85, south of Fayetteville. Corrosion of three 96-inch diameter corrugated metal pipes draining from Perry Creek resulted in a washout during a flood; temporary repairs allowed the road to stay open, but a permanent culvert replacement was required.

The project is among the high-priority Category I list of SPLOST plans, a full listing of which is at www.fayettecountyga.gov/splost-2017/.
