Beginning Wednesday maintenance projects will begin along Interstate 985 in the northbound and southbound lanes beginning at the I-85/I-985 interchange in Gwinnett.

There are a total of seven projects, which will replace damaged concrete slabs from the I-85/I-985 interchange in Buford, north to Lula. These Transportation Funding Act projects were awarded to Georgia Bridge and Concrete LLC of Tucker, Kiewit Infrastructure Southern Company of Peachtree City, and Precision 2000 Inc. of Atlanta.

There will be nighttime lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning July 6 in the northbound lanes of I-985 between Flowery Branch and Gainesville, weather permitting.

Daytime lane closures will begin 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 11, from the interchange of I-85/I-985.

These maintenance projects should be completed in five months, weather permitting.

The final portion in Hall County between Queen City Parkway and U.S. 129/State Route 11, is planned for late August.
