The remains of Robert “Bobby” Weaver III, a Covington man missing for more than two years, have been positively identified, the Newton County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

No foul play was detected in the death of the 27-year-old disabled man. Weaver was last seen alive walking his dog near Ga. 142 and Stone Road. The cause and manner of his death are being listed as undetermined because there was no medically identifiable cause.

The Newton sheriff’s office received a missing-person report on Weaver on Sept. 5, 2013. His address was on Hale Drive in Covington.

Last Saturday, a search effort was expanded by several miles, with the sheriff’s office working with the Community United Effort Center for Missing Persons.

That afternoon, searchers found human remains in heavy thickets about a mile from where Weaver was last seen. Investigators found personal effects of Weaver's, including identifying documents at the scene.
