The Reinhardt University Board of Trustees has named Kina S. Mallard as the school’s 20th president. Mallard was one of three finalists who visited the school’s Waleska campus last month, and her selection culminated a seven-month search.

Mallard is currently executive vice president and provost at Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, Tenn. She’ll take over at the school July 1 replacing the retiring J. Thomas Isherwood, who has been president for the past 13 years.

Board of Trustees chair William G. Hasty Jr. lauded Mallard as someone who can increase the school’s enrollment and endowment, as well as encourage community outreach.
