Rape report unfounded, UGA police say
By Larry Hartstein
Feb 4, 2011University of Georgia police have found no evidence that a rape reported Sunday at an East Campus dormitory really occurred, the Athens Banner-Herald reports.
"Based on information gathered during interviews with the victim, suspect and other involved parties, available evidence and the confirmed facts of the case, the University of Georgia Police Department finds no evidence to support that a crime occurred," police said in a statement.
The rape allegation was the fourth made on campus since last October.
