Randy the ‘Rat' arrested in fatal stabbing

June 13, 2011

Athens-Clarke County police said that the suspect wanted in the stabbing death of a man Saturday has been arrested.

Randy Roderick "Rat" Perry, 36, was caught Monday, police said.

Demetrius Antwon Ball, of Athens, was found lying in a parking lot with multiple stab wounds at 12:05 a.m. Saturday in the Vine Street area in the eastern part of the county.

Ball's death was allegedly the result of a fight with Perry over an unreported incident that happened four to six weeks ago.

Ball, 28, was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
