A Cobb County road is closed until further notice due to rain washing out a portion of the street in Vinings.
Randall Farms Road north of Vinings Forest Way is closed indefinitely due to the large amount of rain that fell across the area Thursday night, the county said on its Facebook page. Randall Farms Road runs between Orchard Knob Road and New Paces Ferry Road.
Cobb Department of Transportation crews are at the location assessing the roadway. County spokesman Ross Cavitt said crews hope to finish cleaning and stabilizing the road over the weekend and start the rebuilding process on Monday. Rebuilding the road could take a week or two or several weeks “as the worst case scenario,” Cavitt said.
The county added the closure will require some detours.
