The members of Quilts of Valor of Henry County gathered last week for the presentation of one of their quilts to Terry Miller, a former Marine and Vietnam veteran from Griffin. Susan Gordon of Lawrenceville, who is the Region 8 Director for Quilts of Valor and is the Destination Coordinator for the entire Quilts of Valor program, presented the quilt to Miller at A Scarlet Thread in McDonough. The quilt was pieced by Nancy H. Badertscher and long-armed by Harriette Williams. Members of Quilts of Valor of Henry County have made about 50 quilts in the last two years for returning soldiers, injured soldiers at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany and retired soldiers.The group meets from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second Monday of the month at A Scarlet Thread.
