Dacula will hold a special election in March to elect one new councilmember to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of the Honorable Hubert Wells. Qualifying to be a candidate for the special election ends at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at City Hall, 442 Harbins Road. The qualifying fee is $213.

Residents will vote in the special election 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, also at Dacula City Hall. Early voting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 2.

Residents who would like to register to vote in the special election may register through the close of business on Feb. 24. If a runoff election is needed, a runoff election will be held April 21.
