The Georgia DOT will host meetings in Gwinnett and Franklin counties this month to inform citizens about detour routes required during bridge rehabilitation.
In Gwinnett, the bridge on Thompson Mill Road over Interstate 985 will be raised, have joints replaced and receive resurfacing. The detour open house will be 4 to 6 p.m. March 16 at Buford City Hall, 2300 Buford Highway NE.
In Franklin, raising the structure, painting and resurfacing will rehabilitate the bridge that carries State Route 328 over Interstate 85. The detour open house will be 4 to 6 p.m. March 21, at Lavonia Community Center, 39 Poole St.
Attendants can provide comments at the meeting with a court reporter, or by completing a provided comment card. Comments may also be submitted online: www.dot.ga.gov/PS/PublicOutreach. From the menu select Gwinnett, or Franklin, then select ‘Bridge Rehab Gwinnett I-985 and Franklin I-85’.
