The public is invited to tour the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources Shoal Creek Filter Plant from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at 1755 Buford Dam Road in Buford.

“The Open House and Festival is a great opportunity for residents to learn where their water comes from, how they receive it, and what they can do to help ensure drinking water quality,” said Varessa Butts, Public Information Officer for Water Resources.

This free event will include facility tours, arts and crafts along with complimentary lunch and refreshments. This is an excellent opportunity for the entire family to learn about safe drinking water and how to protect water resources.

Among the facility’s awards, the Shoal Creek Filter Plant recently won the Plant of the Year award for 2019 from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.
