Evaluators will be taking comment next week on whether the Atlanta Police Department should be re-certified.

An assessment team from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies will be available for public comment at 7 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at Atlanta City Hall. Comments also can be offered via phone on Sunday between 3 and 5 p.m.; the number is  404-617-1693.

There is a five-minute limit on comments made in person and on the telephone.

During the three years that accreditation lasts APD must submit annual reports, attesting continued compliance the national standards.
