Public hearing set to learn about Grayson budget

Grayson will hold a public hearing to receive comments on the proposed 2016-2017 budget at 6 p.m. Aug. 8 at Grayson City Hall, 475 Grayson Parkway.

Grayson will adopt the 2016-2017 budget and amended 2015-2016 budget at 7 p.m. Aug. 15 in the regularly scheduled city council meeting. The proposed budget will be available to the public Aug. 1 at Grayson City Hall.

Changes in the budget are a direct result of increases to the city’s tax digest due to the influx of new construction.

Atlanta among airports where FAA will cut flights due to shutdown

The U.S. Department of Transportation will cut flights by 10% across 40 of the nation’s busiest airports on Friday to alleviate pressure on air traffic controllers.
