Until May 23, applications will be accepted for a billboard competition by ArtPop ATL.
Throughout Metro Atlanta, the work of 30 selected artists will be displayed on traditional static and digital billboards as well as at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Artists in designated Georgia counties, working in all media, are invited to submit their artwork for consideration.
In a blind jury process, the ArtPop ATL selection committee is comprised of representatives from the Cultural Arts Council Douglasville/Douglas County, ArtPop, alum ArtPop artist(s), Lamar Advertising and two at-large community members.
Selected artwork will be displayed on billboards owned and managed by Lamar Advertising, Clear Channel Outdoor, Link Media, Clear Channel Airport and Outfront Media.
To be eligible for submission, artists must reside in Atlanta or Barrow, Bartow, Carroll, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Forysth, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Newton, Paulding, Rockdale, Spalding or Walton counties.
To apply, artists must be 18 years of age or older with an active artist website and their work created within the past three years.
One submission will be allowed per artist at a cost of $25.
This year one of the placements is reserved for a graduating senior high school art student who has plans to attend college in an artistic field.
High school students do not have to be 18 or have a website, but they do need to be transitioning after graduation to study the arts in college.
Submissions are due by 5 p.m. May 23.
Winners will be announced during the week of June 1.
Submission guidelines and announcements are available at ArtsDouglas.org/artpop or ColumbusMakesArt.com.
Artists are advised to read the submission guidelines at ArtsDouglas.org before submitting their application since the image submission guidelines are very specific.
Submissions that do not follow the specifications exactly will not be considered.
To apply, login or register with the Cafe Application system.
