Proposition 8 Protests

More than 1,500 people showed up at the State Capitol in Atlanta for a rally against Proposition 8, which prohibits gay marriage in California.

The Atlanta protest was one of many that occurred all over the U.S.

Georgia Equality organized the Atlanta event.

Massachusetts and Connecticut, which began same sex weddings this past week, are the only two states that allow gay marriage. All 30 states that have voted on gay marriage have enacted bans.
