The annual Project Overcoat drive will run from Jan. 7 through Jan. 21 as part of an effort to help people stay warm during the winter months.

The goal is to fill request for as many as 46,000 new and gently-used coats and blankets for disadvantages men, women and children. Communities agencies will distribute the coats and blankets.

Donations can be dropped off at any Kroger store in metro Atlanta. Volunteers are also needed to help sort coats at The Carpenter's House, 2355 Bolton Road N.W. To volunteer:  unitedwayatlanta.org/projectovercoat.
