Fear not, Fayette County parents and students: If you see school buses on your streets July 23-25, the new school year has not yet begun.

But bus drivers will be doing practice runs of their morning schedules on those days in preparation for starting the fall semester on Aug. 5. The county will be making sure all buses are running smoothly. Motorists are asked to be aware of bus routes and use extra caution when school resumes. Another new feature for Fayette bus riders this year is the My Stop app, available for Apple and Android devices, which allows parents to track the exact location of their children’s buses.

The free app uses real-time GPS data sent directly from the buses to show where they are on their routes.

For more information, visit https://www.fcboe.org/mystop. Even with the app, students are asked to be at their bus stops five minutes before their scheduled pickup.
