A fire at a Georgia Power substation Friday near the Georgia World Congress Center caused power outages in the area, Atlanta police said.

The incident happened about 4 p.m. at the substation at Joseph E. Boone Boulevard and Northside Drive NW, police said. Power has been fully restored, according to a Georgia Power outage map, though thousands were affected earlier. Officials are not sure what caused the fire.
