An early-morning power outage brought trains that transport airline passengers to and from the various concourses at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to a halt.

Power supply to the “plane trains” as they’re called was knocked out around 7:30, airport spokesman Al Snedeker said.

Georgia Power and train management workers had restored limited power as of 10:30 a.m. and are working to get the full system back up and running, he said.

Sunday mornings are generally one of the slowest periods during the week for passenger traffic at the airport, he noted.

“In the meantime, our customer service folks are working with airline customer service to get people where they need to go,” Snedeker said.
