The Powder Springs City Council is scheduled to conduct a public hearing this month on whether to allow monthly equal payments of utilities for a limited time period and a payment waiver.

The meeting will be 7 p.m. Oct. 19 in the Council Chambers, Community Development building, 4488 Pineview Drive.

If approved, utility deposit payments may be paid in monthly equal installments not to exceed six months.

Also, the initial deposit due when applying for utility service may be waived if the applicant received city utility services for at least 36 consecutive months without penalty.

The changes would become effective immediately.
