Powder Springs qualifying fees have been set by the city council at $540 for the mayor and $360 for the Nov. 3 election.

The fees are determined as 3 percent of the $18,000 base salary for the mayor and $12,000 base salary for the council members - all of whom also receive health, dental and pension benefits.

Their terms will last four years from Jan. 1, 2016 to Dec. 31, 2019.

Qualifying dates will be Aug. 31 through Sept. 4 for mayor and the two at-large posts held now by Councilwoman Rosalyn Neal and Councilman Chris Wizner.

Mayor Patricia Vaughn is the only one who has announced she will seek re-election.
