Around 1.5 acres was accepted recently by the Powder Springs City Council as a donation from William Blackstone during a special called meeting.

With city approval, Blackstone also must develop a dog park on the donated property.

Blackstone said he hopes the city will use the property at the intersection of Brownsville Road and Steeplechase Drive to extend a sidewalk into the Steeplechase subdivision which has no sidewalks.

In cooperation with the city, Blackstone said he also would like to add a playground and a passive area trail.
