Powder Springs officials have scheduled public hearings about Sweetwater Landing Subdivision on Jan. 25 and Feb. 1.

Paran Homes is requesting a hardship variance to allow three-story houses, and the city staff is seeking a change in the zoning conditions to allow public streets in the subdivision on Sweetwater Avenue off Brownsville Road near Powder Springs Park.

Only on the hardship variance, the first hearing will be at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25 by the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission in the Council Chambers, Community Development building, 4488 Pineview Drive.

Then the city council is scheduled to hold hearings on both requests at 7 p.m. Feb. 1, also in the council chambers.

Anyone who desires to speak at a public hearing is required to disclose campaign contributions to the Community Development Department five days before the hearing.
