A Powder Springs man was charged Monday in connection with a collision that killed a 74-year-old woman, Marietta police said.

William Webb, 23, turned himself in to face charges of reckless driving and vehicular homicide in the second degree in the death of Joanne Legg of Commerce, police said. He was processed at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.

The collision happened around 4:30 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of Church Street.

The initial investigation indicated that Webb was driving a GMC Sierra pickup that exited a parking deck and hit a Ford Freestyle parked along the curb, police said.

Legg was standing next to the parked car and was struck by it after it was hit. She was transported to a hospital, where she died early Saturday morning.
