The new Silver Comet Village development in Powder Springs will serve hundreds of senior citizens and provide more than 90 new construction, health care and management jobs. The groundbreaking ceremony was held recently with state, Cobb County and Powder Springs officials, the and Searles Realty Advisors.
In June, the Development Authority of Powder Springs issued a nearly $37 million revenue bond for this new step-up senior living and memory care facility, according to a city statement.
The development will consist of two buildings - each a little more than 80,000 square feet for a total of 161,000 square feet. One of the buildings will be a 90-unit, 103-bed assisted-living and memory-care facility. The second building will be a 64-unit independent or supportive living facility. The development is next to the Silver Comet Trail near U.S. Highway 78 and Richard D. Sailors Parkway.
