Powder Springs limits smoking in town square
The Powder Springs City Council voted Monday to ban smoking in the town square during city-sponsored events.
The new rules means nobody can light up there during events such as the town Christmas tree lighting.
Marietta enacted a similar ban on smoking in the town square last summer, then extended the idea into a total ban of smoking in Marietta city parks. Powder Springs has not addressed smoking in parks, however.
