Powder Springs has one candidate for vacant council post

One person qualified this week for the Powder Springs City Council Ward 2 post for the vacancy left when Al Thurman stepped down to run for mayor on the Nov. 3 general election ballot.

Doris Dawkins will appear on the ballot along with Tom Bevirt and Patrick Bordelon, Sr. for At Large Post 1 and Henry L. Lust, Ashanti Norton and Patricia A. Wisdom for At Large Post 2.

Alison Feliciano and Chris Wizner also have qualified to run for mayor.

The term for the Ward 2 post expires Dec. 31, 2017.
