City-owned property was transferred by a 3-2 vote June 18 by the Powder Springs City Council to the city’s Downtown Development Authority.

Opposed to Resolution 18-088 were Councilwomen Nancy Farmer and Patricia Wisdom.

Effective June 18, the property will be used by the development authority for the city’s new downtown park.

During the June 13 work session, this topic was discussed privately in executive session by Mayor Al Thurman and the City Council with all present, according to the meeting minutes, since it was a real estate matter.
