Powder Springs Mayor Patricia Vaughn congratulated Nancy Farmer for her selection as the city’s “Volunteer of the Year” during Monday’s city council meeting.

Last month, Farmer received a plaque from the city and was honored at a banquet for volunteers.

She serves on the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission, Keep Powder Springs Beautiful and on the board of the city’s Senior Center.

Farmer also is the secretary of the Seven Springs Historical Society.
