A new Public Works Department director was chosen on Dec. 3 by the Powder Springs City Council.

Dwayne C. Eberhart will be paid an annual salary of $68,000, according to City Clerk Kelly Axt in a Dec. 5 email to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Since 2015, Eberhart has been the Public Works director for the city of Temple in Carroll and Haralson counties.

He was the Utilities Division manager for Union City in South Fulton County from 2007 to 2014.

In July, Michael M. Anderson resigned as the city’s Public Works director, City Manager Pam Conner told the AJC on Dec. 3.

Anderson was hired in November 2014 by the City Council with an annual salary of $80,000.
