Powder Springs officials will buy four police cars.

The City Council agreed 5-0 Monday to buy two Ford Utility Interceptor police vehicles for $92,409 that will be available by Friday from Brennan Ford.

Additional tax revenues will pay for these cars.

The other two vehicles will be purchased in March with the 2016 special purpose local option sales taxes.

However, the City Council will allow the police department to solicit bids as long as the amount is not more than $100,000 and “the lowest responsive and responsible bidder” is awarded.
