The Powder Springs Police Department will buy four new police cars with money received from the Federal Equitable Sharing Program.

This decision was made on Nov. 4 by the Powder Springs City Council.

Four new 2020 Dodge Chargers will be bought from Akins Ford Dodge Jeep Government Sales - provided under the state contract - for $99,007.

In other business, the city council agreed to pay $11,565 for preventative maintenance and an overall hourly rate of $240 to Always Cool as the lowest and most responsive bidder.

Always Cool will provide an annual contract for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) services, including repairs and maintenance at various city facilities.
