Two budget matters were addressed during a special called meeting on Dec. 10 by the Powder Springs City Council.

From the federal seizure award, $189,172 was authorized 5-0 by the Council for a resurfacing and paving project performed by Bartow Paving.

Then for an emergency repair, the City Council agreed 5-0 to spend $19,565 for a new heating ventilation and air conditioning replacement unit from Atlanta Air Care of Powder Springs.

The unit is for the Patricia C. Vaughn Cultural Arts Center behind the Powder Springs Library, 4181 Atlanta St.

Funding will come from the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
