The Powder Springs City Council held a special called meeting Wednesday, Sept. 2, to set more qualifying dates to fill another council vacancy.

For Ward 2, qualifying will be 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 and Sept. 15, and 8:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 16 at City Hall, 4484 Marietta St.

The post was vacated by Al Thurman who qualified to run for mayor.

Councilman Chris Wizner, whose seat already was up for election, and Alison Feliciano also have qualified to run for mayor.

The qualifying fee is $360 and the election will be held with the others on Nov. 3.

The Ward 2 council seat expires Dec. 31, 2017.
