Peachtree City is buying a new portable restroom trailer that can be used at special events throughout town.

The 22-foot, five-station unit will be funded with $50,693 from the general fund and have more spacious, well-lit and ADA-accessible facilities that include sinks with hot water, non-slip flooring, air conditioning, a baby-changing station and a 450-gallon holding tank. The trailer can be positioned as needed for events at Drake Field, the Peachtree City Athletic Complex and elsewhere in lieu of more traditional portable toilets. Outside organizations will be charged a fee for its use to cover operational costs.

The purchase was approved at the Dec. 6 City Council meeting; delivery is expected before spring.
