Atlanta City Councilwoman Joyce M. Sheperd joined Hammond Park Neighborhood Association volunteers in a community-wide cleanup on Saturday, March 31. Volunteers gathered at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and picked up trash, cleaned curbs and mowed right-of-way overgrowth throughout the neighborhood. Residents were joined by staffers from the city's Department of Public Works and police department as well as students from Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Georgia State University.
