The Gwinnett County and Snellville police departments are trying to identify the people tied to a series of burglaries in Snellville.

Eight stores were burglarized along the Highway 78 corridor on June 15, all early in the morning. The burglars hit Johnboy’s Home Cooking on West Main Street, PetSmart on Paxton Lane and Metro PCS on Stone Mountain Highway, plus five other businesses.

At Johnboy’s, surveillance footage showed two men breaking into the store and taking money from the cash register. The store owner said $700 was missing.

The same men made an appearance on PetSmart’s surveillance footage. They used a rock to break through one of the front windows, an incident report said.

According to the incident report about the Metro PCS break-in, Gwinnett officers found the glass front door shattered and saw two cash drawers open on the floor behind the counter when they arrived.

Footage at the store showed two men using a brick to break in. One wore gloves and the other used his sleeves to cover his hands, authorities said. However, fingerprints were found on the floor near the door and near the cash drawer. A shoe print was also discovered, police said.

Police have not been able to identify the men. Anyone with information can call Criminal Investigations at (770) 513-5300. Anonymous tips can be forwarded to Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477.
