Atlanta police said the shooting outside Piedmont Park this morning was a suicide.

Atlanta police Officer Otis Redmond said police went to the park entrance at Piedmont and 10th Avenue shortly after 10:30 a.m.

"At this time, the shooting appears to be self inflicted," police said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office will be investigating the incident, Redmond said.

No other information was available at the time.
