Police raise money for special athletes

The Acworth Police Department raised $33,468 at a Covering the Bases fundraiser for the city’s ball field and sports league for more than 500 special needs children and young adults.

Funds will help maintain the ball field, equipment and programs for athletes. The police have raised $150,000 in seven years for the program at the Acworth Sports on South Main Street.
