Ryan Lisabeth allegedly injected heroin minutes before his 2009 Red Toyota Corolla struck three boys in Northwest Atlanta this month, killing one of them, according to a police report obtained under Georgia’s Open Records Act.

Police first received a call for help near Joseph E. Boone Boulevard and Mayson Turner Road at 6:59 p.m. on April 15. Lisabeth, 28, of Canton, injected heroin 14 minutes earlier, the Atlanta Police Accident Report says.

The report does not say where Lisabeth got the heroin. But it does provide more details about the incident. It says Lisabeth “veered over the center line, striking a truck on the driver side rear bumper. Mr. Lisabeth continued into the wrong lane and up onto the curb where he traveled and struck three children standing on the sidewalk.” The report continues: “The suspect then proceeded back onto the roadway where he struck a second vehicle before coming to a stop.”

On Tuesday, Friends and family held a heavily attended funeral service for Isaiah Ward, 9, who was killed in the crash. His older brother, 11-year-old Roland, suffered a broken pelvis and a broken leg. A friend, Timothy Hood, 12, was also injured.

Lisabeth is facing multiple charges in the incident, including vehicular homicide in the first degree, driving under the influence of heroin and possession of heroin, court records show. He was denied bond last week. Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that his office is looking into whether Lisabeth should face a more severe charge.
