Clayton police identified a man shot Friday afternoon while officers attemped to deliver an arrest warrant.

The shooting victim was Paul Gus Copoulos, police said Monday.

Copoulos was shot Friday afternoon after officers say he resisted attempts to serve him with an arrest warrant, according to Clayton County police.

The officers were serving the warrant at a residence located at Ga. 138 and Fielder Road when they “experienced resistance,” a police spokesman said.

Clayton police Detective Clarence Cox told Channel 2 Action News there had been numerous complaints about alleged criminal activity at the house.

The suspect was taken to Atlanta Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
