A suspect involved in a recent kidnapping of a Roswell jewelry store owner brutally attacked the victim as he tried to steal a ring and bracelet worth tens of thousands of dollars, according to arrest warrants.
Juan Knight, 28, is one of four suspects who ambushed and kidnapped the 67-year-old owner of Capetown Diamond Corporation in Roswell on Oct. 19. The woman exited the rear entrance of her store around 10 p.m., when Knight — a New York native — and three other masked suspects forced her into the back of a black van at gunpoint.
Knight used the butt-end of a gun to beat the woman in her eye, temple and the side of her head, according to the warrants.
Knight also punched, kicked and choked the woman, as he attempted to steal a 3-carat diamond ring and a 16-carat diamond tennis bracelet — both worth $41,000.
Roswell police captured Knight from the scene. He is charged with kidnapping, armed robbery and aggravated assault and is being held in Fulton County Jail without bond.
The identity of the other three wanted suspects is still unknown, Roswell police said.
