Bond was denied Thursday for the man suspected of killing a pedestrian who refused to relinquish a 12-pack of beer.

Lawrence Williams' body was found on Sept. 18 outside an apartment complex in northwest Atlanta, police said.

According to witnesses, Williams was walking home with the beer when he was confronted by another man, now identified as Liborio Palacios, 48.

"The victim refused to give up the beer and was shot once in the chest," APD Maj. Keith Meadows said. Police, using witness descriptions, tracked the car down to a nearby trailer park and named him as the suspect. But Palacios had fled the state.

He was recently tracked down by police in Huntsville, Ala., an APD spokesman said. APD Fugitive Task Force officers transported him to Fulton County Jail on Monday.

Palacios will have another hearing in about two weeks, police said.
