Police have identified the victim and a suspect in the shooting death Saturday of a man who allegedly was killed for beer.

The body was found along Defoors Ferry Road in northwest Atlanta at about 8:40 a.m., Atlanta homicide detective Maj. Keith Meadows said Saturday.

On Wednesday, officer Otis Redmond of the Atlanta Police Department identified the victim as Lawrence Williams. He was killed at 2788 Defoors Ferry Rd., outside an apartment complex.

Redmond said Liborio Palacious, 48, is wanted for the murder. Redmond said it's likely that he fled the state.

Meadows previously said that witnesses told police that the victim was walking with a 12-pack of beer when he was confronted by another man.

"The victim refused to give up the beer and was shot once in the chest," said Meadows.

Witnesses were able to give police a description of the car and its tag number. The vehicle was later recovered at a trailer park, said Meadows.

Palacious is believed to be armed and dangerous. Police are asking anyone who knows his whereabouts to call 911 or 404-520-1829.
